Recipe chosen: Watermelon and Rosewater Ice
Ingredients:
- Ikg watermelon, rind removed
- 2 tsp lime juice
- 60g caster sugar
- 60ml citrus vodka (I used Cointreau instead)
- 2 tsp rosewater
Procedure:
- Chop watermelon, removing seeds.
- Blitz in food processor or blender with other ingredients.
- Strain through sieve into freezer tray.
- Freeze, stirring every hour or two.
Makes about a litre.
The Verdict: Nice taste, subtly sweet. Quite icy though, rather than the sorbet consistency I was expecting – probably all the water content in the watermelon. Refreshing!
