Another stop in my whirlwind foodie visit to Melbourne was Maha. In the same group as The Press Club and The Hellenic, Maha is another Middle Eastern fusion restaurant, similar to MoMo as the food is exquisite with French technique melded with Middle Eastern flavours.
We visited Maha on my last night in Melbourne. In fact, we had to rush out in order for me to catch my plane! (We needn’t have hurried though; it was Tiger)

When visiting Melbourne, MoMo was definitely on my list of places to visit. I love Middle Eastern food, and fine dining, so it was a bit of an easy choice, plus I’d loved chef Greg Malouf’s travelogue/cookbooks written with Lucy Malouf: Arabesque, Saha and Turquoise. I don’t yet have Moorish, but it’s on my list of cookbooks-to-own.

While watching Iron Chef America last night battling over Pork, not one but two of the judges mentioned that they hoped there would be enough bacon in the final dishes. Cat Cora’s bacon icecream looked impressive but didn’t win all the judges’ votes.
